Protection Listed Grade II (Listed 17/09/1988)
Between Bellenden Road, Maxted Road and Oglander Road. Recommended for listing by Andrew Saint in 1991. Higher grade school in 1914. Dour but complete and tall earlyish Robson, hall extension at back of 1895. The main façade is to Bellenden Road, with the rear towards Oglander Road. A three storey block clearly indicating two stages of development. The main façade is Robson from 1876 (plaque to Maxted Road). This is an excellent example of early Robson, with stylish use of contrasting red and yellow brick and a mature command of the rhythm of the bays. There is an unusual ventilation tower at roof level. The rear is 1895 Bailey and suffered from an attempt to add halls on a short site. The three storey hall block positions the halls end-on to the main block (plaque just visible on Oglander Road). The result is unhappy, especially with the addition of modern iron fire escapes. Listing description: Southwark Educational Services Centre and perimeter wall II Board school, n
